We're dedicated to preserving the rich heritage and culture of the Fur people, fostering unity, volunteerism and supporting our community through education, humanitarian aid, and cultural programs. About the Fur Community

The Fur people are an ethnic group from the Darfur region in western Sudan, with a rich history and cultural heritage. Our community is built on values of unity, hard work, cooperation, and mutual support. In Calgary, we strive to preserve our traditions, language, and customs while engaging with the broader community.

In partnership with other communities and community organizations, we empower our newcomer and community to successfully integrate and settle in various communities in Alberta.

Our Objectives & Goals
- Assist newcomers of the Fur community settle in various communities (employment, housing and schools)
- Establishing a community headquarters to unite our efforts
- Developing and preserving the Fur language and cultural heritage
- Connecting youth with ancestral traditions and promoting personal development
- Supporting women, children, and refugees with social and humanitarian services
- Raising awareness through educational programs and community workshops
- Building partnerships with local organizations to prioritize Fur interests
- Encouraging volunteerism and ensuring transparency in all activities
